Jim McEachern
The Tom James Company

"If you miss a target date, there's a tendency to give up. I think you ought to stick with your goal no matter how long it takes. In 1967, when Tom James was a $165,000 company, I set a goal to build the company to $100 million, and I had an 18-year target date. It took 25 years. And in my pursuit I keep a slogan; it says `I Ain't Quitten.' That basically means I'll pursue the goal however long it takes.
